What is the UNO game?

UNO is a popular card game with a special deck of 108 cards, divided into three main groups: number cards, action cards, and special cards.
1. Number cards
In the UNO game, there are four different colors for the number cards: red, blue, green, and yellow, and they range from 0 to 9. UNO cards will have 19 cards/color:

2. Action cards
Each color in the UNO deck also has 3 types of action cards; each type has 2 cards, for a total of 24 action cards in the deck:
Skip card: When this card is played, the next player will lose his turn. A circle with a diagonal line symbolizes this card.
The reverse card reverses the direction of play. If the turn is going clockwise, it will change to counterclockwise, and vice versa. Two arrows spiraling in opposite directions symbolize this card.
+2 (Draw Two): When this card is played, the next player must draw two cards and skip their turn. The number “+2” represents this card.
3. Special cards
In addition to the number and action cards, the UNO game features 8 special cards that carry the following meanings:
Wild: This card allows the player to change the color of the next card, and you can choose any color they want. However, the color you select must not coincide with the one currently in play. Four different colored squares symbolize this card.
+4 Wild Draw Four: This card not only allows you to change the color, but it also forces the next player to draw 4 cards and skip their turn. However, the player can only play this card if they have no other suitable cards to play. This card is represented by the number “+4” and four colored squares.
UNO Game Rules
There are some UNO game rules you should know:
Combo Rules: If the opponent plays a +2 or +4 card towards you and you have the corresponding card, you can drop it, and the player will draw the total number of cards in the next turn. The process continues until the final player without a +2 or +4 card, who must draw a total of cards equivalent to those previously played.
Double Rules: When you have two cards that are identical in both color and number, you can double. You can put both cards down at the same time to go home faster. Remember to notify other players when you double.
Rules for “Steal Turn”: If you have a card of the same number and color, you can steal another player’s turn by shouting “steal” before they play their card. Note that if you assist after the player in that turn has played, you will have to draw two more cards.
In UNO, there are some additional rules that you need to know to avoid breaking the rules. For example, when you cannot play a valid card, you must draw a card from the draw pile. If the drawn card is playable, the player can proceed immediately.
End of UNO game
- Add up the points on the remaining cards in the loser’s hand.
- The number value on each number card (0–9) determines the points.
- Draw 2, Ban Turn, and Reverse cards are worth 20 points each.
- Change Color and Change Color Draw 4 cards that are worth 50 points.
- The winner of that round receives the total points of all the losers.
- Continue playing the next games until someone reaches 500 total points, then that person wins.
